2012 National School Breakfast Week Theme: “School Breakfast – Go for Gold!”

National School Breakfast week will return in March 2012, and along with it comes a new theme! “School Breakfast – Go for Gold!” is designed to highlight how eating a healthy, balanced breakfast at school helps students shine. The new theme will also provide a great tie-in with the 2012 London Olympics, with a focus on sports as well as academic achievement.

The 2012 National School Breakfast Week will take place March 5-9. NSBW activities include a design contest, in which students can create their own “school breakfast medal” that is designed to represent the benefits of eating a healthy school breakfast. The national grand prize winner will have their design recreated as an item (think pin or t-shirt). Local contests will run from January 1, 2012 through March 9, 2012, and national entries are due March 31, 2012. Click through for a full list of contest rules and entry forms.

There are tons of online resources for the 2012 National School Breakfast Week: menus, tools & resources (including marketing & PR materials), as well as information on the design contest and NSBW participation sweepstakes.

We already know breakfast is a winning idea—help us spread the word about this gold medal-worthy program!
